The following list summarizes three types of gift designations plus information on endowments and planned giving.
If you're ready to make your gift, you can give now.
all levels are vital to the life of
Mayslake Ministries
UNRESTRICTED GIFTS: Unrestricted gifts are the most common way to contribute and are given with no specific designation, thereby allowing the Board of Trustees and Executive Director the flexibility to meet the ministry’s growing needs. Unrestricted gifts are vital to the operations of Mayslake Ministries.
SUSTAINING GIFTS: Sustaining gifts equip Mayslake Ministries with flexible funds needed to further its mission. Such gifts afford the organization the ability to plan and implement exceptional formation opportunities as needed. Sustaining gifts also allow Mayslake Ministries the freedom to offer discounted program pricing to adults suffering financial hardship. Sustaining gifts ensure Mayslake Ministries can continue to fund innovative speaker series, attract and retain qualified staff, and maintain an environment suitable for spiritual growth.
PROGRAM SUPPORT GIFTS (RESTRICTED): When a gift is made in support of a specific program, the viability of that program is assured. This is an investment with untold returns. Choose to support Retreats, Spiritual Direction, Faith Formation, and the Veteran’s Ministry. The program you designate will benefit greatly from your restricted gift.
Endowments & Planned Giving
Mayslake Ministries owes its heritage to the foresight of Fr. Jonathan Foster, OFM, who, in 1991, envisioned and created a “retreat house without walls.” Throughout these 20 years many individuals have been inspired by Fr. Jonathan’s vision and have chosen to support the future of Mayslake Ministries. Regardless of the size of your estate, what has been accumulated is a testimony to your life, your hard work, your central values and commitments. What is transferrred to the next generation, and how that is done, can accurately reflect your own vision and goals.
ENDOWMENTS: An endowment in your name lives on forever at Mayslake Ministries and allows for the permanent upkeep and benefit of the organization. You may establish a new endowment fund, or add to an existing endowment fund. Minimum support levels of $25,000 for new endowments have been established to guarantee that income from the funds will be adequate to achieve the benefactor’s intent both today and in the future. Additional gifts to endowed funds may be made at any time and in any amount.
PLANNED GIFTS: Planned gifts build upon the legacy of Mayslake Ministries and allow your desire to have a lasting impact on the organization to become a reality. Choosing to include a provision in your estate plan directing a gift be paid to Mayslake Ministries upon your death will ensure that adults seeking spiritual formation will be able to do so for years to come.
All individuals who create or contribute to endowments or make provisions to name the organization as a beneficiary will be remembered in perpetuity as members of the Mayslake Ministry Legacy Circle.
