"The School of Spirituality utilizes a reflective model of education to stoke the "Spirit of prayer and devotion" which Francis of Assisi deems the primary vocation ... It brings the teachings and practices of spiritual masters and mystics to 21st century believers."
The varied programs offered by Mayslake Ministries as part of the School of Spirituality draw from many resources and teachings. They are all designed to draw you ever-closer to God.
This one life is all we have been given to feed our spirit... to grow in wisdom and faith. It is our destiny to learn and to serve God's people, making a difference in this world, and dwelling in the fullness of the next. Sharpen your pencils and register for one or more of these sessions. |

There are times in our lives when we need encouragement. Sometimes God gives it to us in the most unexpected ways. Journaling those moments can hlep us remember and appreciate all the good things God is doing in our Lives. Creating our own Encouragement Journal can be a keepsake of these moments.
Please bring a blank journal with a plain cover (a composition book works well). Using art supplies, you will personalize the cover for journey you are on. There will also be time to write in your journal.

leading with a servant's heart |
 |
This is a workshop exploring the principles of Servant Leadership. Do you have what it takes to be a servant leader? Following the example of Jesus, a servant leader begins with a true desire to serve, as opposed to wanting power. The concept of servant leadership works with all kinds of organizations, from big corporations, to not-for-profit entities, churches, parishes, schools, and foundations. During the course of this workshop leaders will explore the four dimensions of leadership: the heart, the head, the hands, and habits through active learning projects.
Facilitators:
JoAnne McElroy is an imaginative presenter, spiritual director, educator, and life coach. JoAnne holds a Master of Arts in Spirituality from Loyola University and Certificate in Spiritual Direction. With extensive experience in adult faith formation programs, workshops and retreats, JoAnne is married, and the mother of three adult children and a grandmother.
Doug Muir is the Pastoral Associate/Director of Adult Education at Notre Dame Parish and hold a doctorate in leadership development.

the mysterious ways of god...and us |
 |
We live our lives forward and understand them backwards. We have often heard the phrase "God works in mysterious ways." The mysteries of the Rosary help us reflect on the moments of grace in the life of Jesus and our Blessed Mother, Mary. We take time to reflect on these special moments. How has God worked through the mysteries in your life?
This reflective and interactive evening is intended for all who wish to deepen and enrich their faith life. Attendees will learn to recognize God's grace in the mysteries of their own experience. Examples from our inspiring church leaders and other stories will be used.
