A Ray of Light: A Faith-Filled
Dialogue between Christianity
and Eastern Religions

One of the fruits of the Second Vatican Council was an invitation for Christians to dialogue with people of other faiths. Join us as we enrich our own Christian faith by looking into what some of the Eastern traditions have to teach us. We will explore topics such as:

  • What does Ghandi’s life teach us about being a mystic?
  • In what way scan Islam help us to refocus our attention on the “anawin” of the Old Testament, which are the poor, the orphaned, those who have no voice in society?
  • In what ways can the teachings of the Dali Lama help us attain personal peace and the interconnections of the living world of God?

Christopher Strong holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University, and serves as the Adult Education Coordinator at St. John the Baptist Parish in Winfield. Chris is also a featured presenter with the Diocese of Joliet Theology on Tap Series and the Cardinal Newman Center for Evangelization. A dynamic speaker, Mr. Strong is also the owner/president of Strong Landscaping.
