Mayslake Ministries to partner with Triton College on White House Interfaith Project.  

The goal of this project is to gain a greater understanding of the needs and challenges that our veterans experience when they return home from war.

     Mayslake Ministries is committed to working with the academic community of Triton College to provide faith based programs and retreats for our military men and women.  

Triton College president, Dr. Patricia Granados said, “ it is important to help veterans return to their families and communities with the support they need to transition back to civilian life.”

Join us for a relaxing afternoon as we savor the joy of taking High Tea at the beautiful Marriott Oak Brook Hills Hotel. Women of all ages are invited to join in a conversation with Dr. Mary Amore as we explore the Christian mystic that lies within each of us.

Menu: Assortment of gourmet herbal teas and coffee, selection of scones, sweet breads and muffins, variety of delectable finger sandwiches, and cheesecake. Champagne cocktail available at additional cost.

Called to Serve the Lord and One Another: Examining our Baptismal role as priest, prophet and king

Monsignor Kenneth Velo has been a priest in the Archdiocese of Chicago for more than 30 years, having served in numerous positions including vice chancellor and executive assistant to Archbishop Cardinal Bernardin of Chicago. He has also served as president of the Catholic Church Extension Society and is the current president of the Big Shoulders Fund, an organization dedicated to supporting children and neighborhoods in inner-city Chicago.  More than half of the students attending Big Shoulders-supported schools come from families who live at or below the poverty level.

Francis Cardinal George, Archbishop of Chicago

Cardinal Francis George is the first Chicago native to become Archbishop of Chicago. Installed in May 1997, he arrived by way of the west coast, where he had spent less than a year as Archbishop of Portland, Oregon and five years as Bishop of Yakima, Washington. He is the thirteenth Ordinary for Chicago since its establishment as a diocese in 1843. The northwest side native, a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, is the sixth Cardinal to lead the Chicago Archdioceses 2.3 million Catholics. He has assumed a prominent position among U.S. Cardinals, serving as the President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops from 2007 to 2010. His pastoral leadership encompasses international and national audiences.
